THE VIEW FROM ABOVE

Dibujo tomada de: Rappler.com

Construction workers
sit and eat lunch
from their crow's nest
above the sidewalk,
ogle and comment on the women
passing below.

Their expressions speak
of lust and abhorrence,
as they whistle
or bark like dogs.

At ground level,
they're considerate, respectful to
the women in their family.
their girlfriends.
and the girlfriends of friends.

But they're two hundred feet in the air.
Some men can't climb that high
without lowering themselves.
